JP shipping was born out of the joint venture of two historical Sardinian shipping companies, Josto and Plaisant groups.
Josto has been active in the shipping business since the first half of the nineteenth century, serving the growing industrialization of the southern part of Sardinia.
Plaisant was established in the port of Carloforte (south west Sardinia) in 1840 to handle the export of minerals from the mines of the Sulcis Iglesiente area.
Later, as Sardinian industry developed, branches were opened in the main ports of the island.
Over the last few years Josto and Plaisant groups have worked together on several common projects, which then lead to the foundation of a single company: JP shipping.
This allows JP to be a company which operates in several shipping branches with high quality standards, and to be able to offer its services in the main European ports.
The head office is located near the port of Cagliari, in the Unione Sarda Square, but JP also operates in all main Italian ports and in the main Mediterranean and European ports.
